The Russian Foreign Ministry announces the resumption of joint patrols with Turkey in northern Syria
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said yesterday, Tuesday, that Russia is continuing joint work with the Turkish side regarding developments inside Syria.
Lavrov stated during an interview with the Russian “Kommersant” newspaper, that work and interaction continues between Turkey and Russia regarding the Syrian issue, and stated that they are cooperating on the diplomatic, military and intelligence levels.
He added “the two sides continue to work to destroy what he described as “terrorist groups” and to create the necessary conditoins for the return of refugees to syria ,as he claimed At the same time, he noted that the two countries continue to conduct“ Turkish-Russian ”patrols in both Idlib governorate, northern Syria, and the eastern Euphrates region.
