The Turkish army is preparing to evacuate two military bases in Idlib and Aleppo countryside
The Turkish army prepared to evacuate two new military bases located within areas controlled by the Assad regime and its militias in northwestern Syria, days after the evacuation of the base located in the city of Morek, north of Hama, and its continued evacuation of the “Sher Maghar” point west of it.
Media sources reported that the Turkish army will begin tomorrow to evacuate the base located in the town of “Qubtan Al-Jabal” in the western countryside of Aleppo, and move its equipment towards the city of Darat Azza in the same countryside.
It indicated that about 60 trucks and vehicles will enter the site of the aforementioned base tomorrow to participate in the evacuation process.
It confirmed that Turkey would also evacuate its military base in the “Maar Hatat” area, south of the city of “Maarat al-Numan” in Idlib countryside, on the M5 international road.
The expert of the Russian Council for International Affairs, Kirill Simeonov, said: The withdrawal of the observation points could not indicate any compromises between Moscow and Ankara, as Russia had no incentives to make concessions to Turkey because of these points, and most likely, Ankara realized the imperative of a new military operation. In Idlib, and that the besieged points, in fact, could become a hostage if Turkey decides to provide military support to “the opposition.”
