Idlib University President to Fresh Online: “Idlib University Hospital is the first of its kind in northern Syria”.
University of Idlib opened the first university hospital in the liberated north, which is considered one of the most important achievements of the university in the medical field. The inauguration was attended by the President of the Salvation Government, Ali Keda, the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Fayez Al-Khalif, the President of University of Idlib, Dr. Ahmed Abu Hajar, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Yasser Al-Kanash, and the Director of the Idlib University Hospital, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jarak, in addition to a large number of doctors from the University of Idlib. Dr. Ahmed Abu Hajar, President of the Universityof Idlib, told Fresh Online: “After five years of its launch, Idlib University was able in cooperation with the means of higher education, to open Idlib University Hospital, which is the first teaching hospital in the liberated areas, which will be a big achievement in the field of education and the medical field”. Abu Hajar pointed out: “We will seek, through Idlib University Hospital, to supply doctors to service hospitals who have a high scientific level and work according to the academic foundations that they will obtain from the doctors in the Idlib University Hospital”. Explaining the hospital departments, he added: “The outpatient department was opened and includes 9 clinics, which are ophthalmic, atrial, and internal departments, orthopedics, and children, and the radiology department, which is a simple rays and axial stratum, and the laboratory section, which includes three laboratories, which are a hematology laboratory, a chemical laboratory and a laboratory “Bacterial, in addition to the surgical department distributed over 6 rooms and 14 rooms for intensive care, in addition to sleeping rooms containing 50 beds”. He stressed: “The aim of opening this hospital is a medical service that works to provide treatment services to our sick families in the liberated areas in an academically correct manner, and these services are absolutely free.” It is worth mentioning that the financial cost of the two-storeys hospital with an area of three thousand square meters amounted to one hundred thousand US dollars, at the expense of Bab al-Hawa crossing, where the University of Idlib signed a memorandum of understanding with the crossing to provide support for a period of 5 years through which the crossing would provide all material support to the hospital throughout The five years with the possibility of renewing the agreement. About a thousand medical students out of a thousand and six hundred students in various medical colleges benefit from this project, according to the “Al-Muharr” media network.
