Turkish forces establish a new military post in the southern countryside of Idlib
The Turkish forces established a new military post near the lines of contact with the Assad regime forces in the southern countryside of Idlib, bringing the number of points established by the Turkish forces since the beginning of November to 5 points.
Activists reported that the Turkish forces established a new military post on Wednesday, southwest of the village of Al-Bara in Jabal Al-Zawiya, south of Idlib.
Activists added that the Turkish forces were stationed inside a building that contained a swimming pool before the displacement of the people, as the Assad regime forces approached, and that Turkish vehicles began to raise earth mounds around the point.
The activists pointed out that the importance of the new point lies in strengthening the Turkish army’s presence in Jabal Al-Zawiya, especially near the lines of contact with the Assad regime’s control sites.
Since the beginning of last February, the Turkish army has established about 60 military posts for its forces in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, which are under the control of the opposition.
Since the beginning of last November, the Turkish army has established 5 points for its forces, all of which are distinguished by strategic locations in southern Idlib, in parallel with its withdrawal of besieged points within the areas controlled by the Assad regime forces, after the outbreak of Turkish-Russian disputes regarding these points.
The Turkish point that was established in Al-Bara will be added to the points of Tell Badran, the vicinity of the village of Ruaiha, and Balun, and the point between the villages of Al-Bara and Deir Sunbul, all of which were established after the withdrawal of the besieged Turkish points.
While the Turkish army withdrew 7 points belonging to it from areas under the control of the Assad regime forces, namely Murak and Sher Maghar in the countryside of Hama, and Ma’ar Hattat and Al-Sinaa, east of Saraqib, in the Idlib governorate, in addition to three other points in the countryside of Aleppo, which are Qubtan Al-Jabal, Al-Rashdeen and Sheikh Aqil.
