The United States stresses the importance of a political solution in Syria
The American envoy to Syria, Joel Rayburn, stressed the importance of working to achieve a political, peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict in Syria, according to Resolution 2254.
And the US State Department announced that Rayburn conducted a tour in the Middle East that included Syria, Israel, Turkey, Egypt and Bahrain.
During his visit to Syria, the US official met with a number of military partners in the International Coalition to Defeat ISIS, senior officials in the Syrian Democratic Forces, and senior members of The Deir Ezzor Regional Council and its tribal leaders reiterated the United States ’commitment to help meet humanitarian needs and build the stability and security necessary for a better future for the Syrian people.
During his visit to the rest of the countries, Rayburn met a number of senior officials with whom he discussed the situation in Syria and the need for Achieving a peaceful political solution.
He also participated in the Manama Dialogue, where he met with the Foreign Ministers of Bahrain, Iraq and Jordan, and discussed with them the developments of the situation in the region.
