After a three-year break, King Salman invites the prince of Qatar to attend the GCC summit
The prince of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a written invitation from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to attend the summit of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to be held in Riyadh on the tenth of this December.
The Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has instructed to invite the leaders of the GCC countries to attend the 41st Gulf Summit, which will be held in Riyadh.
And according to what the Qatari agency said, the prince of Qatar “received a written message from the Saudi King to attend the Gulf Cooperation Council summit on December 10.”
Among the invitees is the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, whose country is facing a boycott by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the Emirates, which are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The holding of this summit comes in light of talk of an expected breakthrough in the Gulf crisis during which it may take place, after Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt imposed a comprehensive blockade on Qatar, since 2017, under the pretext of supporting terrorism, which Doha has strongly denied, considering that it aims to control its sovereign decision.
