Kadri Jamil: The opposition and the Assad regime block the political solution in Syria

“The Assad regime and the Syrian opposition are obstructing the political solution in Syria,” said kadri Jamil, head of the Administration and Change party and head of the Moscow platform, stressing that Moscow will propose amendments through its representative in the Constitutional Committee.

Jamil added, during a press conference in Moscow, “There is a division, which is a realit and there are three areas controlled by the regime, northeastern Syria, and Idlib, and the continuation of this situation for a long time is dangerous.”

He explained, “Foreign interference threatens the unity of Syria,” and criticized the United States and Turkey in Syria, calling for “the cessation of all illegal foreign interference, the implementation of UN Resolution 2254, and the abolition of foreign interventions in Syria.”

Jamil added that the continual deterioration of the economy leads to the displacement of Syrians outside their country, and the real task is to stop it.

He talked about the powers of the President of the Republic, reducing the number of years of his term and making them only two terms, and creating an electoral system that considers Syria a single electoral district.

Previously, Kadri Jamil, head of the “Administration and Change” party and the head of the Moscow platform, discussed with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, the results of the meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva.
