Jordan sets a condition against the Assad regime to open “Nassib” border crossing with Syria
Jordan has set a difficult condition in the face of the Assad regime, in order to agree to open ” Nassib” border crossing with Syria, which has been closed since the twelfth of August of this year, under the pretext of measures taken to confront the Corona virus.
“Arabi 21” revealed that the crossing will only be opened in one case, namely the withdrawal of the Iranian Shias militias and the other affiliated with the Lebanese Hezbollah, 50 kilometers inside the Syrian territories.
The site stated that the Jordanian proposal came during a meeting held by Jordan late last month with the commander of the Russian-backed Eighth Brigade, Ahmed Al-Awda, through which a message was sent carrying the Jordanian condition.
The website indicated that it had contacted the Jordanian authorities and the government spokesman, but they preferred not to comment on the incident at all.
According to the site’s sources, the Iranian militias control the southern Syrian border with Jordan, and they control the Nassib crossing under the name of the “Fourth Division” of the Assad regime forces, and are using their influence there to spread Shiism among the population of the region.
Since the Assad regime forces seized control of southern Syria with the help of Russia, the Shias militias affiliated with Iran have rushed to gain a foothold in the region, especially the Quneitra region and the Daraa and Sweida border areas with Jordan.
