Receiving the first batches of Corona vaccines in several countries around the world
Several countries around the world have started receiving vaccines against the Corona virus, produced by international companies, including the American company “Pfizer” and the German “Bio NTech”.
The United Kingdom obtained a deal to receive vaccines from the “Pfizer” company, to be the first Western country to vaccinate its citizens.
According to the “Bloomberg” news site, it is expected that the British will begin vaccination, today, Tuesday, with the participation of about 50 hospitals at the beginning of the campaign.
The “Pfizer” vaccine needs to be kept at a temperature of minus 70 degrees Celsius, and it can be stored in traditional hospital refrigerators for up to five days.
The vaccine boxes were dispatched to secure locations in the UK by truck or plane, each containing five packages of 975 doses.
While people over the age of 80 years and care home staff and health workers will be the first to receive vaccinations, the vaccine will undergo a quality assurance process that takes 12 to 24 hours, according to “Bloomberg.”
For his part, the official Saudi Ministry of Health spokesman, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, confirmed that Saudi Arabia was able to make important contracts with companies developing the Coronavirus vaccine, indicating that the Kingdom is one of the first countries in which the vaccine will be available.
And Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced that his country had received the first shipment of vaccines, coming to China, stressing the government’s readiness to launch a mass vaccination program.
He added in a press statement that his country had received 1.2 million doses of the Chinese company “Sinovac Biotech” vaccine, which has been undergoing trials in Indonesia since last August.
