Ukraine: We managed to regain control of 3,000 square kilometers from Russian forces
The Ukrainian forces continue to control sites of the Russian army amid acceleration of the field developments.
Ukraine’s military chief, Gen. Valeriy Zaluzhnyy said in a Telegram post: “we managed to regain control of 3,000 square kilometers of territories in the strategic Kharkiv region near the Russian state border.”
Zaluzhnyy added, “The Ukrainian forces have become 5o kilometers away from the state border with Russia.”
The Ukrainian army also retook the city of Kupyansk after battles with Russian forces.
The Ukrainian army also announced that its units raised the Ukrainian flag over the local administration building in Blakliya city, near Izyum.
The Ukrainian army also announced that the Russian forces had evacuated some of their positions in the Kherson region in the south of the country. The Ukrainian army also confirmed that Kherson also witnessed the withdrawal of Russian forces from some of their positions.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video speech “Ukrainian forces liberated more than 30 towns in the Kharkiv region in a counter offensive against Russia. He also added that “Ukrainian forces in Kyiv successfully continue their active operations in several regions.”
