Faisal al-Mikdad: Turkey is an occupying country and a supporter of terrorism in Syria
The Assad regime foreign minister, Faisal al-Mikdad, said, “Turkey is an occupying country and a supporter of terrorism,” when there are frequent statements concerning the potential restoring of relations between Turkey and the Assad regime.
This statement came in an interview he conducted with Russia Today TV.
Al-Mikdad added that “Turkey must cease the hostile activities against Syria, end the occupation, and terminate the support provided to the terrorist groups in return for restoring relations with Turkey.
Al-Mikdad pointed out that “Turkey cuts off water from the Syrian territories and kills and bombs the Syrians in northern border areas.”
He described the housing units projects which are sponsored by the Turkish government in northern Syria as settlements to bring in people instead of the indigenous population. This issue is considered a punished war crime.
It is noteworthy that these housing units are being implemented to house millions of displaced people in the northern camps who were displaced by the Assad regime from their original areas.
