Al-Watan newspaper confirms the visit of a Hamas delegation to Damascus in the coming days
The loyalist newspaper al-Watan quoted sources within the Assad regime on Monday that a delegation from the Hamas movement will visit Damascus in the coming days.
The newspaper said that a delegation of Palestinian factions, including some representatives of Hamas movement, will visit Damascus in a few days to restore relations between the two sides.
The sources made it clear that in the current stage the relations will be limited to the return of Hamas as a resistance faction, but within a delegation representing all Palestinian factions, and without an individual representation of it in Damascus.
Hamas issued a statement earlier declaring its desire to restore relations with the Assad regime, after a rupture lasted for ten years.
The movement severed its relationship with the Assad regime after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution against it, and some of its leaders stood by the revolution of the Syrian people.
