Arab League: The Assad regime is not serious about dialogue with the opposition
The Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Hossam Zaki said in an interview with the official Egyptian agency on Saturday that Assad regime is not serious about dialogue with the Syrian opposition and conducting a constructive dialogue to find a solution for the crisis, describing the situation in Syria as “very sorrowful.”
Zaki confirmed that the Arab League participates in all relevant international meetings, except for those organized by the three parties (Russia, Iran and Turkey), in which we do not participate, and we are not invited to attend them.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said during the 31st Arab summit held in Algiers, that “developments in Syria still require a pioneering Arab effort to put the Arab footprint on the map of resolving the critical situation in this significant Arab country.”
