Erdogan: We will provide all facilities to transfer humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country will provide the necessary facilities to transfer humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in Syria.

The Turkish President confirmed via video link during the International Donors Conference in Brussels to collect financial support for the earthquake-affected areas in Syria and Turkey that his country will continue to provide the necessary facilities, in order to transfer humanitarian aid coming from other countries to those affected by the earthquake in Syria.

He added that “It’s impossible for any country regardless of its economic situation to cope with a disaster of such scale alone.”
He pointed out that the damage caused by the devastating February 6 earthquake worth nearly $104 billion.

The European Union hosted on Monday in Brussels the International Donors’ Conference to support the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the conference via video link, while Assad regime and Russia were not invited to attend the conference.

Participants in the conference pledged 7 billion euros to help those affected by the earthquake.
