UN spokesman: The northern Syrian air storm has caused damage to more than 500 tents
In a press conference, United Nations spokesman Stefan Dujarric said that nearly 500 tents were damaged by the air storm that hit northwestern Syria, following flooding of camps in the same areas during the same month.
The United Nations and its partners supported the shelter of some 100,000 people in Syria and provided more than 850 thousand ready-to-eat rations and more than 1 million hot meals to people throughout the areas affected by the February 6 earthquake and aftershocks, Dujarric said.
More than 1,177 United Nations relief trucks have entered from Turkey since the earthquake, and United Nations agencies have completed some 45 cross-border missions to meet those affected, assess their needs and coordinate the response.
