The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” revealed the target of the latest Israeli airstrikes on Syria, targeting several military sites in the country.
The newspaper added in its report that the Israeli military airstrikes aimed to foil an imminent Iranian attack.
The report pointed out that the attack was planned by the “Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps” (IRGC) militia and the “Lebanese Hezbollah” militia.
The newspaper described the latest airstrikes as “unusual in terms of their scope, intensity and force.”
The newspaper made it clear that the drone coming from Syria, which Israel managed to shoot down near the border, is part of the Iranian attempts seeking to replicate the Russian success in Ukraine. Iran linked the idea to what Ukraine witnessed during its war with Russia as it was attacked by “suicide planes” sent by Iran to support Moscow at war.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said a few days ago that “Tel Aviv will push Iran and the Hezbollah militia out of Syria.”
It is noteworthy that Israel has carried out for years hundreds of attacks and airstrikes on Syria, targeting Iranian and Hezbollah sites and targets, including weapons and ammunition depots in separate areas.
