Erdogan: We have begun building new houses in Syria for 1 million Syrian refugees
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that “we will construct new houses in north-west Syria funded by Qatar for one million Syrian refugees.”
Erdogan confirmed that “they will finish building the houses through one year, so a million Syrian refugees could return home.
Erdogan added that “we reject expelling or forcing the Syrian refugees to return home, therefore we will repatriate them in a way suiting the human and Islamic values.”
Erdogan pointed out that “the return of Syrian refugees will be accelerated after normalizing relations with the Assad regime.”
The Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said that work has begun to construct 5,000 homes in northern Syria backed by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), within the first phase of the project, and they will be submitted before the end of this year 2023.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced earlier that Turkey plans to establish a 30-kilometer-deep safe zone inside the Syrian territories in order to achieve security and stability in the region.
