Mikhail Bogdanov: The “road map” for normalizing relations between Turkey and the Assad regime is ready
The Russian special presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa., Mikhail Bogdanov, said that a draft “road map” for normalization between the Assad regime and Turkey is ready.
The Russian news agency “Tass” quoted Bogdanov as saying, “The draft of the Russian road map is ready. Our task is to discuss it with our partners and move forward in this work.”
The Russian official expressed his hope that the meeting in Astana will allow us to make serious progress.
Astana will host on June 21st a quadripartite meeting, including the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Turkey and the Assad regime.
The deputy foreign ministers were asked during the Moscow quadripartite meeting on May 10, to prepare a road map for normalizing relations between the Assad regime and Turkey, in coordination with the ministries of defence and intelligence of the four countries.
