Ahmed Tohme: The file of detainees is on the top priorities for the Syrian opposition during the Astana meetings
The head of the Syrian opposition delegation in Astana, Ahmed Tohme, said that “we hope for positive results during the 20th round of Astana meetings held on 20-21 June in the Kazakh capital.
Tohme’s statement came before the beginning of Astana meetings. Tohme confirmed that during the 20th round of Astana meetings on Syria, we will raise the file of forcibly disappeared and detainees in Assad regime’s prisons and many other issues.
Tohme added that the opposition delegation will call for flowing the UN assistance to northern Syria through the Bab al-Hawa and Bab al-Salama border crossings with Turkey.
The twentieth round of Astana meetings on Syria started on Tuesday in the Kazakh capital, with the participation of delegations from Syria and the guarantor countries of the Astana process, Russia, Iran and Turkey.
