Saudi Arabia signs a joint cooperation agreement to support people affected by the earthquake in north-west Syria
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid Relief Center (KSrelief) signed a cooperation agreement with the international Wars and Disaster’s victims’ protection Association (IRVD) to operate the healthcare programs in areas affected by the earthquake in north-west Syria, so 251, 307 individuals can benefit.
KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, signed the agreement in the organization’s headquarter in Riyadh, according to SPA.
The director of the KSrelief Health and Environmental Assistance Department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muallem made it clear that under the agreement the complementary and field healthcare services, and psychological, social and nutritional support will be provided to beneficiaries.
Al-Muallem added that the program includes routine vaccination campaigns, providing diagnostic and therapeutic health services, performing surgical operations, providing medicines and medical and non-medical consumables, boosting the primary, secondary, and tertiary health services, and distributing baby formula to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the earthquake through the effective medical response in many Syrian areas.
The KSrelief signed last Wednesday, on May 8, an agreement to rehabilitate the homes of families affected by the February earthquake in Al-Bab city in the Aleppo countryside.
The agreement aims to rehabilitate 743 homes to benefit more than 4,500 people, in addition to providing new water tanks and ventilation systems, in cooperation with a civil society organization in Syria.
The assistance comes within the Kingdom’s efforts, represented by the KSrelief, to help those affected by the earthquake and those in need in Syria.
