Al-Bahra discusses with the UK representative the situation of Syrians in Turkey after the Kayseri attacks
The head of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, discussed with the UK Special Representative to Syria, Ann Snow, the conditions of Syrian refugees in Turkey and other asylum countries.
Al-Bahra said on “X” platform: During the meeting, it was confirmed that the increase and continued suffering of the Syrians is a result of international negligence in pushing the political process to implement international resolutions, especially Resolution 2254.
Al-Bahra stressed the necessity of providing a safe environment, and implementing a political solution in accordance with the resolution, to persuade refugees to take the decision of voluntary return to their home country.
Al-Bahra pointed out that Snow affirmed her country’s adherence to its position regarding the voluntary and safe return of refugees, and that their country is still not safe for their return at the present time.
The UK Special Representative to Syria held discussions last Wednesday with the head of the Syrian Negotiation Committee, Badr Jamous, to discuss the situation in northern Syria and developments in the political process.
Snow confirmed in a tweet on “X” platform that she discussed with Jamous the situation in northwestern Syria, and the opposition’s ongoing work with civil society to implement the UNSCR 2254.
These discussions come against the backdrop of the attacks that greatly affected Syrian refugees and their property in Kayseri, Turkey, and the call for the deportation of all Syrians to their country, in events considered the most violent against Syrians in Turkey, since the beginning of the wave of asylum there.
