4 civilians were killed and 13 injured in Assad regime shelling on northern Idleb countryside
Four civilians were killed, including an old man and a woman, and 13 others were injured, including 6 children and 4 women, on September 23, 2024, as Assad regime forces shelled with artillery and missiles the town of Kafraya and its vicinity in northern Idleb countryside.
Radio Fresh’s correspondent reported that Assad regime forces targeted with heavy artillery and missiles the town of Karaya as well as the town of Sarmin in eastern Idleb, killing 4 civilians and injuring 13 others.
The correspondent added that Assad regime forces targeted by suicide drones the town of al-Nayrab, September 22, which caused damage to an inhabited house, however no causalities were reported.
Assad regime forces also shelled with heavy artillery the vicinity of Maaret al-Nasan town in eastern Idleb and al-Wasata and Kafar Ema towns in western Aleppo in addition to the villages of Al-Ghab plain in north-west Hama countryside.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), its teams responded during the first half of this year to 392 attacks by Assad regime forces and Russia on the areas of north-west Syria, including 293 artillery attacks, 27 missiles attacks, 7 attacks by Russian warplanes, and 3 attacks with incendiary weapons.
Since the beginning of this year, the Syrian Civil Defense has also documented about 120 attacks by suicide drones that were launched from Assad regime-held areas and targeted civilian areas in north-west Syria.
It is noteworthy that Assad regime forces have escalated their attacks on the countryside of Idleb and Aleppo during the recent period, shelling the region with various types of weapons, especially suicide drones.
