Washington announces the death of 37 “terrorist members” in airstrikes in Syria
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it carried out two strikes in Syria, killing 37 “terrorist members,” including many senior leaders of ISIS and “Hurras al-Din”.
CENTCOM said in a statement on “X” platform, on October 29, that it had carried out a strike in northwestern Syria, which led to the killing of nine members of the two organizations, including Marwan Bassam Abdul Rauf, one of the senior leaders of the “Hurras al-Din” and responsible for supervising military operations from Syria.
Washington also carried out a large-scale airstrike, on September 16, targeting an ISIS training camp in central Syria, resulting in the killing of at least 28 members, including at least four senior leaders, according to the CENTCOM.
CENTCOM emphasized that the airstrikes are part of its commitment to disrupt and degrade the efforts of terrorists to plan and carry out attacks against civilians and military personnel from the United States and our allies and partners.
Military accounts specialized in reporting news of “jihadist groups” via “Telegram” (commonly used in Syria) previously reported on September 25th that a coalition aircraft bombed a stronghold for jihadists of the “Ansar al-Islam” group in the village of Dwair al-Akrad in the countryside of Latakia, killing nine members.
It is noteworthy that the United States carries out strikes from time to time in the northwestern regions of Syria, and these strikes often target leaders of “jihadist” factions that Washington considers “terrorist and threatens its interests.”
