Israel launches airstrikes against Assad regime and Iran-linked sites in the Homs and Hama governorates
The Homs and Hama governorates were subjected to repeated Israeli airstrikes on several Assad regime and Iranian militias-linked sites in the region.
The Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement that “A number of Assad regime and Iran-linked military sites in central Syria were subjected to Israeli bombardment on Sunday, October 6, which led to material damages”.
According to the statement, Israel carried out the airstrikes from the direction of northern Lebanon. Local news pages circulated information about the killing and wounding of dozens of Assad regime members.
The statement pointed out that the Israeli airstrikes continued for about an hour, while huge explosions resulting from the bombing of the depots continued for long hours last night.
The statement confirmed that the Israeli airstrikes concentrated on depots in south and west of Homs, in addition to the eastern and northern regions, and depots in the vicinity of al-Shatai village in Homs eastern countryside.
Israeli warplanes had previously conducted several airstrikes on positions of Assad regime forces and Iranian militias within the industrial city in Hisyah area of Homs countryside.
