The Syria Civil Defence warns against Assad regime and Russia’s ongoing attacks on north-west Syria
The Syria Civil Defence warned against Assad regime and Russia’s ongoing attacks by artillery shells, missiles, and airstrikes on the regions of north-west Syria.
The Syria Civil Defense’s statement came in a post on social media pointing out to the systematic policy that threatens civilians’ lives in the region and prompts many of them to flee.
The Civil Defence considered that this escalation is messages to the international community that the crimes are ongoing and Russia is the most important ally in Syria and the only backer of Bashar al-Assad.
The Civil Defence said that “one more day of military escalation on north-west Syria as new attacks by Assad regime forces and Russia killed a civilian and wounded others in the countryside of Idleb and Aleppo as well as setting fire and causing damages to power station in western Idleb.”
A civilian was killed and eight others were wounded, some seriously, on October 15, in Assad regime artillery shelling on the residential neighborhoods in Al-Atareb city, west Aleppo, and a similar shelling also targeted the neighborhoods of Daret Ezza city in western Aleppo countryside, however no civilian casualties were reported.
Two workers at Al-Kilani power station in the Ain Al-Zarqa area in western Idleb were injured by two airstrikes which led to igniting fire in the station and fuel depots as well as putting the station out of service.
Russia and Assad regime have been escalating the attacks on all the areas of Idleb countryside for the second consecutive day.
Since the beginning of this year until the end of last September, the Syria Civil Defence have responded to 698 attacks by Assad regime forces and Russia, killing 66 civilians, including 18 children and 8 women, and injuring 272 civilians, including 110 children and 34 women.
