Reciprocal bombardment occurred between the Israeli army and the Lebanese Hezbollah
More than 20 attacks by the Lebanese “Hezbollah” targeted Sunday evening the Israeli army gatherings in southern Lebanon and northern Israel, so the Israeli army responded to the attack by launching many airstrikes on Beirut.
“Hezbollah” confirmed in a statement that a barrage of missiles targeted the cities of Safad and Haifa and carried out about 25 attacks on targets and gatherings of Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese members bombed also Haifa-Basileh with specific missiles, as part of a series of “Khaybar Operations”, and in response to the attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to the statement.
In turn, the Lebanese National News Agency said that the Israeli army launched air strikes on the southern suburb of Beirut, targeting branches of the “Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation” association affiliated with “Hezbollah.”
According to the agency, “the number of Israeli strikes reached 11, including a strike on the Al-Qard Al-Hassan branch near Rafic Hariri International Airport.”
The agency confirmed that the airstrikes targeted the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation, in particular, in multiple locations across eastern Lebanon, including Baalbek, Hermel, and Rayak.
An airstrike hit a commercial market containing a building previously used by the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation, in Baalbek, according to the Lebanese National Agency.
The Israeli army warned on Sunday evening that it would begin striking infrastructure linked to the Hezbollah-affiliated association and ordered residents to evacuate.
Since last September 23, Israel has expanded the scope of its war on the Gaza Strip, to include areas in Lebanon, including the capital, Beirut, through air strikes, and also began a ground invasion in the south of the country.
