14 Syrian security forces were killed and 10 wounded in an ambush by the ousted regime remnants

14 Public security forces in Syria’s interior ministry were killed on Wednesday in an attack launched by the remnants of the deposed regime in Tartous countryside.

The Syrian interior minister, Mohammed Abdulrahman, said in a statement: “14 members in the interior ministry were martyred and 10 others wounded in treacherous ambush laid by the remnants of the criminal previous regime in Tartous countryside.”

Abdulrahman confirmed: “The ministry provided today an example of sacrifice and redemption to preserve Syria’s security and stability and the safety of its people.”

Abdulrahman added that “these sacrifices will not stop until achieving stability and security for the Syrian people and we will beat with iron fist everyone who dares to tamper with the Syria’s security and the lives of its people.

According to local sources, the attack took place in the village of “Kharbat al-Muazza” in Tartous countryside after the interior security forces attempted to arrest a military officer linked to murder and torture crimes in Sednaya prison.

In response to the unrest, several Syrian cities witnessed on Wednesday evening dozens of demonstrations calling on the new Syrian administration to hold the seditionists of the sectarian strife and agitators of violence in the country accountable.

The demonstrations spilled over into Damascus, Aleppo, Idleb, and Hama, in which the demonstrators confirmed the unity of the Syrians and called for the seditionists of the sectarian strife to be held accountable.

In the city of Latakia, the security services prevented demonstrators in the Saliba neighborhood from entering neighborhoods inhabited by Alawite families to prevent violence, while the city’s dignitaries issued a statement in which they called on the Syrian authorities to quell the strife and hold the seditionists accountable.
