Administration of Bab al-Hawa Crossing: Crossing traffic between Syria and Turkey is permitted on all days of the week
The administration of the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey in Idlib governorate announced yesterday, Thursday, that it will allow travelers to cross on Saturday and Sunday, after the Turkish side canceled the curfew that was imposed due to the Coronavirus measures.
The crossing said, in a statement on its official identifiers, that transit movement is permitted between Syria and Turkey all days of the week.
The Turkish authorities have been imposing a curfew on their lands on Saturday and Sunday at the end of every week as a routine measure to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
The crossing witnesses daily movement of Syrian travelers, and hundreds of patients with serious diseases, such as cancer, war injuries and others who are treated in Turkish hospitals.
The Bab al-Hawa crossing connects the liberated areas in Idlib with Turkey, and on the Turkish side it is opposite the “Gilo-Gozo” crossing.
The liberated areas in northern Syria, which are controlled by the Free Syrian Army, are linked to three crossings with Turkey: Bab al-Hawa, Bab al-Salameh, and Jarabulus.
Bab al-Hawa crossing is the only internationally recognized gateway for the entry of humanitarian aid into the northwestern regions of Syria, after Russian pressure in the Security Council led to the closure of the remaining crossings.
