The Turkish Relief Foundation launches a project to dig water wells in the displaced camps in Idlib

The Turkish Humanitarian Relief Organization “İHH” launched a new project to dig water wells in the camps for displaced people in northern Syria. The launch of the project comes on the occasion of “World Water Day” which falls on March 22 of each year.

The authority said in a statement that it had launched the new project in cooperation with the International Charitable Association, “Water Well” in Turkey, and that it had begun the work of digging the first well within the framework of the project, in Mashhad Rouheen camp, in the countryside of Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, and it is expected that about 11 thousand displaced persons will benefit from the water well that will be opened in the camp.

Last December, the Turkish Relief Organization (İHH) sent 350 aid trucks to liberated areas in northern Syria, in conjunction with International Human Rights Day, and this comes as part of a campaign under the slogan “Our Path is the Goodness, Our Cargo is the Humanity”, in cooperation with several civil organizations among them are the Kuwaiti “Mercy” and the International Islamic Charitable Organization.

Displaced Syrians are living in dire conditions in camps near the Turkish border in northern Syria, as these camps suffer from a lack of infrastructure.
