SDF hands over to the Netherlands a number of its citizens linked to ISIS
Yesterday, Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces handed over Dutch citizens linked to ISIS to representatives of the Netherlands in order to return them to their country.
Sources in the Department of Foreign Relations of the Syrian Democratic Forces stated that “Dutch citizens linked to ISIS were handed over to the Dutch official authorities at their headquarters in the city of Qamishli,” noting that those concerned “are not ISIS fighters.”
Other sources said that those who were handed over are a woman and her two children, in addition to an orphan child from the families of the ISIS.
It is reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces are demanding the return of women and children to their countries of origin, but most countries, especially in Europe, are reluctant to take back their citizens. Some countries, including France, have brought back a limited number of orphaned children.
About 43,000 foreigners are still detained by the Syrian Democratic Forces in northeastern Syria, and men are distributed among prisons, while women and children languish in camps.
