The Kazakh Foreign Ministry reveals the topics of agenda for Astana talks
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced the most important topics that will be discussed on the agenda of the next round of Astana talks, between the countries sponsoring the talks, the delegations of the Syrian opposition and the Assad regime.
The press office of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said: “The meeting will discuss several topics, most notably the file of international humanitarian aid to Syria, the resumption of the work of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, in addition to measures to strengthen and build confidence between the delegations of the Syrian opposition and the Assad regime.”
The Foreign Ministry added: “The sponsoring countries of the conference, Turkey, Russia and Iran, will participate in the meeting, along with representatives of the Syrian opposition and the government of the Assad regime, in addition to the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, and observers from the United Nations, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.” The next round of Astana talks is scheduled to start in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, on July 7-8.
