Washington: Iranian militias intensify their military attacks on the US army in Syria and Iraq

Today, Wednesday, the US Department of Defense confirmed that Iranian-backed militia attacks are intensifying their military attacks on the US military, in both Syria and Iraq.

“I am concerned about the severity of these potentially fatal attacks, and we take them very seriously,” said State Department spokesman John Kirby.

Kirby added, “Iran must stop its support for these militias,” noting that US President Joe Biden is the one who determines when and how self-defense will be carried out.
The attacks targeting US forces in Syria and Iraq have recently escalated, especially after Washington targeted militias with air strikes on the Syrian-Iraqi border late last month, which threatened to target US interests.
