In a Danish initiative, 52,000 people sign a petition calling for residency renewal for Syrian refugees
Yesterday, Tuesday, 52 thousand people call for not depriving the Syrians descended from the capital, Damascus, of their residency permits in Denmark, as Parliament is considering the request.
This came in a popular initiative, through signing a text of petition, demanding the Denmark authorities of not depriving the Syrians of their residency permits.
According to the petition, “The Parliament should amend the law which allows repatriation of refugees to Syria in current situation”.
Denmark had previously revoked the residence permits of 248 people who had originally been granted a temporary permit, according to the Migration Agency.
Last summer, the Danish authorities decided to review the files of Syrians descended from the Syrian capital, which is under the control of the Assad regime.
