New Israeli strikes target military sites in Damascus countryside
Several Israeli strikes targeted on Monday night, military sites of the Iranian militias and Hezbollah in south Damascus without reporting the extent of the damage caused to the sites.
According to Assad regime’s news agency “SANA” claimed the air defense system affiliated to the Assad forces intercepted most of the aggressive Israeli missiles, causing only material damage.
While local media reported that heavy explosions were heard south of the capital, Damascus, without identifying the exact targeted locations, however activists said that the strikes targeted the surrounding of Sayyidah Zaynab town and near Damascus International Airport.
It is noteworthy that Israeli strikes always target the above-mentioned areas because they are considered Iranian sites of influence and barracks for pro-Iran militias.
Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes on May 21 that targeted military sites south Damascus, killing 3 members of the Assad regime and injuring others, according to official state media.
