“Syrian Response Coordinators”: targeting facilities and infrastructure in northern Syria is a serious war crime
The Syrian Response Coordination Group published a statement yesterday, stressing that the facilities and infrastructure in north-west Syria have been systematically targeted again amid a complete absence to deter these inhumane behaviors.
The statement clarified that the recent targeting of one of the displacement camps “Kuwait Al-Rahma” in Afrin countryside, northern Aleppo, by Syrian Democratic Forces comes within a unified policy of all parties (Assad regime, Syrian Democratic Forces, Iran, and Russia) to destroy the basic necessities of life in north-west Syria.
The statement strongly condemned the deliberate targeting of hospitals, schools, markets and camps in northwestern Syria, demonstrating an obvious indifference to civilian life. The statement considered the targeting as a serious war crime.
The statement confirmed that these targeting are part of a deliberate military strategy to destroy civilian infrastructure and deprive civilians of any necessities of life or the ability to survive.
The statement pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the number of facilities and infrastructure targeted by the above-mentioned parties has exceeded 28 facilities, camps and service areas.
