Russian strike targeted a US military site in al-Tanf
The Russian forces had targeted with an air strike a group of US-trained opposition factions ( Shuhada al-Qaryatayn Brigade) in al-Tanf area, eastern Syria.
Russia’s defense ministry said in a statemdent yesterday “after an aerial reconnaissance the Russian fighters had targeted an armed group of Shuhada al-Qaryatayn Brigade.”
The statement added that this group had been hiding in equipped shelters in the desert, pointing out that its headquarters is in al-Tanf region in the east of the country.
The statement continued, “US Special Forces and trainers had supplied and trained this group.”
The statement affirmed that this group had committed crimes in al-Badia region against the civilians.
While the United States provided its other groups with a HIMARS rocket system. The faction had published a photo of the American rocket in the area.
