Safadi warns of exacerbating the danger of drug smuggling from Syria to Jordan
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has warned of exacerbating the danger of drug smuggling from Syria to Jordan, which Jordanian border forces deal with every day.
Al Safadi said: “Smuggling attempts from Syria are continuing, but they are effectively confronted,” pointing out that the last months have witnessed a significant increase in smuggling attempts, prompting to change the approach which the armed forces deal with in facing this threat.
Al-Safadi added that the memorandum of understanding signed recently by Washington and Amman are not directly related to the issue of cross-border drug smuggling between Syria and Jordan.
It is noteworthy that most countries sharing border with Syria seize huge quantities of narcotic pills that the Iranian militias in cooperation with the Assad regime export to neighboring countries.
