Erdogan: Peaceful settlement needs to be reached to resolve the conflict in Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech at the UN General Assembly that “his country will not hesitate to fight terrorism in Syria, and that they are doing everything they can to enable the Syrians to return to their homes.”
Erdogan added: “A peaceful settlement needs to be reached to solve the conflict in Syria.”
He pointed out that “the UN Security Council must take its responsibility to support the humanitarian aid delivery mechanism to northwest Syria.”
The Turkish president called on the members of the Assembly to “make the necessary effort and show solidarity regarding the housing project that they will implement in Syria.”
Erdogan added that “we must restructure the United Nations to be able to find solutions for a fairer world order that reflects the common will of all humanity.”
It is noteworthy that the meetings of the UN General Assembly started on Tuesday at the UN headquarters in New York with the participation of more than 150 heads of state and government in these sessions.
