The Syrian Opposition Coalition calls on the Arab countries to take a firm stance to end the suffering of the Syrian people
The National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces expressed its hope that the Arab summit in Algeria will achieve a progress on the Syrian file to support the political transition in line with the UN Resolutions.
The Coalition called on the Arab countries participating in Algeria summit to adopt firm stances to end Syrian people’s tragedy.
The Coalition affirmed in a statement last Monday the importance of adopting a firm stance by the Arab brothers to end the suffering of the Syrian people, achieve the political transition, activate the file of holding Bashar al-Assad regime accountable, and restore the pivotal role of Syria to engage it again in its Arab world.
The statement added that the Assad regime has become a tool in Iran’s hands implementing its destructive project which threatens our sisterly states. Assad regime also serves Tehran expansionist regime based on backing the destructive and terrorist acts through its hateful and sectarian militias which it deploys in many of the Arab countries to destabilize their security and stability.
The Coalition statement pointed out that “the idea of returning the Assad regime to the Arab League at any time means bringing Iran into it.”
The Arab League confirmed last June that “Syria’s return to its seat requires Arab consensus that is currently unavailable.”
