The final statement of the 19th Astana meeting renews its commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria
The guarantor countries (Turkey, Russia, and Iran) renewed in their final statement of the 19th round of Astana talks on Wednesday, their firm commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
The statement condemned the attacks of “terrorist organizations” in Syria, and the practices of countries that support these organizations, including “separatist groups” (the Syrian Democratic Forces). The statement also condemned stealing the Syrian oil, which its revenues should return to the Syrian people.
The statement condemned the repeated Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, which violate the international law and Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement affirmed the need to continue combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, rejecting all separatist agendas.
The statement stressed that security and stability in northeastern Syria can only be accomplished through preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The 19th round of the Astana talks on Syria started on Tuesday, in the Kazakhstan capital, Nur-Sultan, with the participation of delegations from the opposition, the Assad regime, Turkey, Russia and Iran.
