Saudi Foreign Minister discusses with Pederson efforts for permanent solution in Syria

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud discussed with the UN envoy for Syria, Geir Pederson, the efforts for a permanent political solution to the Syrian file.

This came during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023, in the Swiss city of Davos, on Wednesday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The meeting between Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Pederson also witnessed “a review of the efforts of the Kingdom and the United Nations in reaching a political solution to the Syrian issue and discussing the most important developments in the regional and international arenas.” According to the Anadolu Agency, Saudi Arabia’s foreign affairs.

The United States had warned against attempts to revive the Assad regime, and the State Department said in more than one statement that what was happening would not negate the reality of Assad’s massacres of Syrians.
