Russian Foreign Ministry confirms Moscow’s readiness to help normalize relations between the Assad regime and Turkey
Russian deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in a statement on Monday, after he met with Assad regime foreign minister, that Russia is ready to help Assad regime to normalize relations with Turkey in accordance with the unconditional respect principles for the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of Syrian territories.
The statement confirmed the leading role of Astana process, and intensifying the constructive work of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, according to “TASS” Russian News Agency.
The statement made it clear that the two sides exchanged views on the situation in Syria, emphasizing the tasks of promoting a comprehensive settlement in Syria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged to continue the meetings between his country, Russia and the Assad regime, with the participation of Iran, aiming to achieve stability in northern Syria.
