Russia warns the United States of violating the deconfliction memorandum in Syria
The Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation in Syria, Oleg Gurinov, warned of continuing the US forces to violate the US-Russian memorandum on the safety of the two countries’ warplanes in Syria.
Gurinov said that “The so-called US-led global coalition against terrorism continues to violate the deconfliction protocols and the bilateral memorandum on the safety of Russian and American flights in Syria”.
Gorinov stated that “our pilots record, in their periodic sorties in Syria, the American targeting and monitoring devices targeting their planes, in flagrant violation of bilateral agreements.”
Gorinov confirmed that 210 violations were recorded during last March, represented by the flight of drones belonging to the Washington coalition in Syria without informing the Russian side.”
Gorinov said: “Provocative actions of units of the US armed forces were observed in Al-Hasakah Governorate, and during the conduct of the joint Russian-Turkish patrol, the movement of two patrols belonging to the so-called international coalition to combat terrorism, was monitored along the undisputed track in the towns of Derona-Agha and Saramsak.
On the first of April, the “Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria” had previously expressed its protest against the “provocative actions” by the US forces present in Al-Hasakah Governorate, eastern Syria, pointing out that “the Russian side lodged a protest against the behavior of the coalition.”
