Erdogan hints at launching a Turkish military operation inside the Syrian territories
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hinted at launching a Turkish military operation on the Syrian-Turkish border to destroy the Syrian Democratic Forces project.
Erdogan said: “We will continue to destroy the project of establishing a “terrorist entity” on our southern borders through military operations that we intend to carry out.”
Erdogan added: “Turkish forces were able to eliminate the terrorists in the Curi and Gabbar regions of Sirnak Province, southeastern Turkey.”
Erdogan’s statements came during a speech he delivered on Friday, 23 February 2024, at a rally in Balikesir state a head of the upcoming local election, according to the Anadolu Agency.
Regarding Gaza, Erdogan stressed that his country will use all the available means to stop the oppression in Gaza and the harassment in Jerusalem, pointing out that Turkey is making efforts for the Islamic world to move as one body against Israel.
It is noteworthy that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated a few days ago that his country would not allow a “terrorist entity” on its borders, and that no one respects Syrian lands as Ankara does.
Over the past years, Turkey has launched several military operations inside Syrian territory, targeting cities under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which Ankara classifies as a “terrorist” group.
