The United States condemns Assad regime’s use of excessive force against peaceful protestors in Suwayda
The U.S. Embassy in Syria said in a post on “X” platform: “The Syrian people in Suwayda and everywhere deserve peace, dignity, security, and justice.
The U.S. Embassy added: “Assad regime’s use of excessive force against peaceful protestors in Suwayda raises our concerns, and the United States offers its condolences to all the affected people and their families.”
The U.S. Embassy affirmed: “The United States continues to support the Syrian people’s demand for peace, dignity, security, and justice, and it supports their right of peaceful assembly and freedom of expression.”
It is noteworthy that angry demonstrations began in the streets of Suwayda city after the funeral of Jawad Al-Barouki, in which hundreds participated, and the mourners chanted slogans demanding the overthrow of the Assad regime and the implementation of UN resolutions stipulating the peaceful transfer of power.
