“Bab al-Hawa” Hospital in Idleb is threatened with closure within a month

The administration of Bab al-Hawa Hospital in Idleb countryside, north-west Syria, near the Turkish border warned that funding cut to Bab al-Hawa hospital at the end of this month threatens the continuity of providing vital services to more than 1.7 million people.

The hospital administration said in a statement on Wednesday, September 4, that the hospital has been a final referral point for the advanced medical services in the region, and it provided services including the primary and secondary health care as well as the specialized surgeries, oncology treatment and emergency services.

The hospital administration pointed out that it is making great efforts, in cooperation with the main supporter, the Syrian American Medical Society “SAMS” organization, to ensure the continuity of medical services without interruption.

The administration added that it is aware of the ramifications of closing the hospital or suspending its services, which prompts it to work on discovering all possible ways to create new financing opportunities and maintain vital services.
