Suicide drones target two US bases in Syria

Media sources reported that “unidentified suicide drones targeted two US bases in Deir Ezzor and Homs.”

The sources said: “The base of Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor eastern Syria was attacked by unidentified suicide drone.”

The sources added: “After that attack, US forces shelled from its base in Al-Omar field the villages of Khasham, Al-Jafra, Al-Hwaija, Al-Mariyah, where Iran-backed groups are deployed in western Euphrates River.

In the same context, the sources said: “the US base in Al-Tanf area in Homs countryside on the Syrian-Jordanian border came under similar suicide drones attack.”

The sources pointed out: “there was no information on whether the attack on the two bases resulted in any casualties.

Such attacks come as an indicator of escalating regional tensions, as they have repeatedly increased in strategic areas representing special importance of US forces.

It is noteworthy that the recent period has seen a noticeable increase in attacks targeting US bases in Syria, whether by suicide drones of unknown origin or surface-to-surface missiles, especially in areas such as Al-Tanf, Al-Malikiyah, and Al-Shaddadi.
