Aviv Kochavi: The Iranian position is slowing down after our recent military operations in Syria

“The Iranian positioning in Syria is slowing down, after our recent military operations on their sites,” said Aviv Kochavi, spokesman for the IDF, on Tuesday.

Kochavi added, “Iran is trying to control the region and increase its regiona
l influence, near the Israeli-Syrian border.”

He stressed that the positioning has not ended and the Iranians have no intention to stop it, which will push Israel to continue its military activities in the region, noting that Iran is not only an Israeli problem, but an international problem because it fuels terrorism in the world in general and in the Middle East in particular.

On the nuclear agreement, the IDF spokesman noted that had it not been for the nuclear agreement with Iran, it would have been able to advance towards developing a bomb due to the absence of controls and oversight that prevent it.

In the past, Israeli warplanes launched raids on Iranian militia sites on the border with Syria, which resulted in deaths and injuries among the latter.
