The Interim Government: We refuse to receive any coronavirus vaccines through the Assad regime
The head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdul Rahman Moustafa, refused to receive any of the vaccines for Coronavirus in the liberated areas in northwestern Syria, through the Assad regime.
In an interview with the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Al-Moustafa said: The opposition does not want to receive the anti-Coronavirus vaccine in its regions northwest of Syria, which is coming through the areas controlled by the Assad regime forces, pointing out that the number of infections has significantly decreased in the liberated areas.
The head of the Interim Government said: “We are against delivering the opposition areas’ share of “Corona” vaccines within the “Kovacs” program through the areas under the control of the Assad regime forces.
He added: The vaccines will reach the Ministry of Health of the interim government, and all health care workers, people with chronic diseases, and citizens aged 55 years and over will be vaccinated.
The World Health Organization revealed through its representative in Syria, Akjamal Majtimova, that the percentage of Corona vaccines expected to arrive in Syria, without specifying a time date for the arrival of the vaccine, may cover 3% of the population as a start.
