The Coalition: The First Syrian Women’s Forum came within the work plan of the Women’s Office in the Coalition
The first Syrian Women’s Forum was launched in the city of Azaz in the countryside of Aleppo under the patronage of the head of the Syrian National Coalition, Dr. Nasr al-Hariri, and under the supervision of the Deputy Head and Coordinator of the Women’s Office in the Coalition, Ruba Habboush, with the participation of a number of active women in public affairs.
Ruba Habboush, the coalition’s Deputy Head and spokesperson, and the forum’s official, told Fresh Online: “The first Syrian Women’s Forum was part of the work plan of the Women’s Office in the Coalition that was established since the beginning of this presidential term.”
Habboush added, “The political process and the importance of the role of women in it were discussed, and the great challenges facing Syrian women, especially inside Syria and the liberated areas.”
She explained, “There will be upcoming forums and effective steps for women to be present in decision-making positions.”
She emphasized, “These discussions were fruitful and effective, and from which the Syrian Women’s Commission was announced.”
The head of the National Coalition stressed during the forum the importance of the role of women in the Syrian revolution, and stressed the support of the coalition to expand its participation in public affairs, especially the political and media sphere.
